Doctor’s Note: July Newsletter Introduction from Dr. Eduardo Fox

Greetings,

As summer is in full swing, I hope you’ve had the opportunity to enjoy some well-deserved time with family and friends while trying to keep up with all those well visits- and, of course, all the World Cup action. As usual, our newsletter is packed with updates, resources, and opportunities designed to support you and your practice.

One highlight is the expansion of our online Clinical Support Tools for Providers. We added new evidence-based algorithms, medication guidance, and patient education materials covering acne, obesity, PrEP, and HIV testing. Please reach out to us with any feedback regarding these and suggestions for additional conditions or topics.

This month also marks an important leadership transition for our Board of Directors. We extend our deepest appreciation to Dr. Dianna Abney, Dr. Michael Caplan, Dr. Michael Hopper, and Dr. Meghan Delaney, whose dedication, expertise, and countless volunteer hours have helped strengthen our organization and advance pediatric care across our community. Their service has made a lasting impact, and we are deeply grateful.

At the same time, we are excited to welcome our newest Board members — Dr. Teresa Flick, Dr. Linda George, Dr. Brendan Sullivan, and Dr. Ayman Saleh. We look forward to the perspectives, energy, and leadership they will bring as we continue working together on behalf of children, families, and pediatric practices.

There’s much more inside this issue, including exciting news about CareFirst shared savings and upcoming educational and networking sessions for practice administrators and practice managers. We are also continuing to highlight opportunities for patients and families to participate in research efforts at Children’s National.
