COVID-19 Drive Up/Walk Up Specimen Collection Provided by Children’s National Hospital

Children’s National Hospital has a drive up/walk up specimen collection site for coronavirus (COVID-19) available only for pediatric patients up to age 22 as referred by the primary care physician.

Children’s National Hospital has a drive up/walk up specimen collection site for coronavirus (COVID-19) at Trinity University located at 125 Michigan Ave NE Washington, D.C. Specimen collection is available only for pediatric patients up to age 22 as referred by the primary care physician. The site will be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday 3/22, Tuesday 3/24, Thursday 3/26 and Saturday 3/28, weather permitting. Only children with referrals will be tested.

NOTE: Patients will not see a provider or have an exam at the specimen collection site.  It is collection only. If patients have moderate to severe COVID-19 illness and need a patient visit, they should be routed to the appropriate care environment (telemedicine visit, primary care or emergency department).

Specimens will be evaluated by Quest Laboratories and results will be returned to the referring pediatrician in approximately 3-5 days. Applicable insurance will be billed for the service. No co-pays or deductibles will be collected at the site.
