Dear Colleagues,
The past weeks have brought many changes and threats to our health and immunization delivery systems. In the face of these multi-faceted challenges, our collective efforts to promote evidence-based medicine and advocate for children’s health are even more essential. As our dedicated teams continue the hard work day-to-day, we have several exciting updates and opportunities to share that will support our continued commitment to pediatric care. At PHN, we are always here to provide support for you as you support our youngest patients.
The opportunity to gather together at Future of Pediatrics CME is just around the corner on May 29. You can register online now. This in-person event promises to be an excellent opportunity for learning and collaboration, bringing together professionals dedicated to advancing pediatric healthcare. Stay tuned for more details on sessions and speakers as we approach the event.
Another opportunity we would like to highlight is the Workshop for Abbreviated Autism Diagnostic Evaluations for Young Children on Wednesday, June 4, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Led by Kelly Register-Brown, MD, and Anne Inge, PhD, this workshop is specifically designed for pediatric primary care providers and psychologists working in primary care settings. This workshop will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to identify, diagnose, and document cases of unambiguous autism in young children effectively. By improving confidence in medical diagnoses and documentation, we hope to facilitate better access to essential services for children and families. You may register here.
Please read on in our newsletter for more updates, including a new Measles Resources for Providers webpage from Children’s National to assist you in staying informed during the ongoing measles outbreak, new co-management tools available on our website, resources for those who were unable to attend a recent measles webinar, and an upcoming Behavioral Health Initiative (BHI) webinar focused on Difficult Behaviors in Young Children. We look forward to seeing many of you at these events and appreciate your continued dedication to pediatric health. Everything you do makes a difference even if it is hard to see in the moment, and collectively we are even stronger.
Best regards,
Lee Beers, MD
