Recognizing Outstanding Nurses Across the Network

Summary

Every year in May, we recognize and honor those at the heart of healthcare and on the frontlines of patient care – nurses.

Dear PHN Members,

Every year in May, we recognize and honor those at the heart of healthcare and on the frontlines of patient care – nurses. PHN remains committed to supporting and celebrating you every day of the year. We are grateful for your sacrifices and commitment to providing exceptional care to the children and families of our region. Please join us in extending our sincere appreciation to all of the nurses in our network, in our lives, and across the world.

Below, we feature a few outstanding nurses from the Pediatric Health Network with a quote from their supervisors. These nurses are representative of the many nurses who work tirelessly across our network to help transform the health of our region’s children.

Sandra R. – “Sandra R. is a true rock star and the epitome of a pediatric nurse!  Working with us for more than 19 years, Sandra has continued to be kind, patient, caring, and professional. She has an infectious laugh, loves to serenade us all as she works (and she has a BEAUTIFUL voice!), and always goes above and beyond.  Sandra has proven she is strong enough to tolerate all the stress of a busy pediatric office while keeping a smile on her face.  Patients and families love her (and so do we!)!” – Lisa DiRisio, Practice Administrator

Myraine S. – “Myraine does so much behind the scenes to ensure the office is running.  She’s ALWAYS doing something.  The other nurses and providers go to her if there is a need. She always tries to do the right thing (integrity). She is great clinically and I trust her to spot a sick kid.  She is encouraging and supportive of everyone.  She is quiet, but a leader and a backbone to our office.” – Karen Hoffer, Clinical Team Manager

Sooky R. – “Sooky has been working as a nurse at All Peds for almost 13 years.  Sooky goes above and beyond for the patients and their families with her caring attitude but she is also consistent in her work and always tries to go the extra mile to make us (medical providers and the rest of her colleagues) have an efficient and easier day. Sooky is one of the best. We are very blessed to have her on our team at All Pediatrics.” – Karen Hoffer, Clinical Team Manager

Yasemi R. – “Yasemi is a true asset to the ALL Peds family, and her leadership skills are highly respected among her colleagues. She leads by example and serves as a role model for other nurses, always going above and beyond!” – Karen Hoffer, Clinical Team Manager

Faith K. – “Faith is an LPN and my Clinical manager, she’s been with us for almost 15 years, she provides outstanding patient care to our families, responds to emergencies, and is always ready to lend a helping hand, even when it may be outside of her job description. She is always very flexible and goes above and beyond. We are so lucky to have her!” – Martha Velasquez, Practice Operations Manager

Julie B. – “Julie is one of my medical assistants. She is wonderful with our patients and families, she may notice that a patient is struggling and take time to sit with them and listen to their concerns.  Julie is compassionate, knowledgeable, and committed to providing the best possible care for our patients.  She has been on our team for almost 18 years. We are fortunate to have her on our team!” – Martha Velasquez, Practice Operations Manager

Nickie – “Nickie is an exceptional nurse who has been with us for 11 years.  She is the epitome of a team player and always goes above and beyond!” – Rachel Bakersmith, Practice Administrator

Allison – “Allison has been with Children First for one year and has already made such an impact! She has such a positive attitude, and you can tell she loves being a nurse.” – Rachel Bakersmith, Practice Administrator

Regina – “Regina’s passion and drive to serve her community has allowed her to care for 3 generations of family members. Her 50 years of service is a true testament to her dedication to the community and to improving pediatric health outcomes.” – Teresa Graves, Director of Nursing and Community Health

Tamara G. – “Tamara is an amazing nurse leader who maintains the clinical operations of the health center and makes integral decisions that will affect care delivery. While in this role for the past 5 years, Tammy will be expanding her professional career to a new role as a nurse practitioner in our School Based Health Centers later this month.” – Teresa Graves, Director of Nursing and Community Health

Kaitlyn – “Kaitlyn has been a nurse with us since she received her RN in 2017. She has become a valued member of our team and Dr. Wehberg’s right hand. Kaitlyn’s knowledge of pediatric nursing is a valuable asset to our team. You often find her and Dr. Wehberg discussing difficult cases together. Kaitlyn goes above and beyond to help her patients and anyone in our office; willing to help anyone behind on orders. We are blessed to have her on our team!” – Melissa Graves, Practice Administrator
