Susan Metzler

BIOGRAPHY

Susan Peldo Metzler joined the Pediatric Health Network (PHN) in May of 2021 as the IT Director.  Susan has more than 25 years of Healthcare IT experience.  She has an extensive background in managing IT operations, project management, process improvement, data analysis, systems implementation, and data integration.  As the IT Director for the PHN, she is responsible for developing the IT integration strategy, leading the IT initiatives, managing the population health solution, and building a robust data repository to enable the network to achieve the Quadruple Aim.  

Prior to joining the Pediatric Health Network, Susan served in a variety of IT leadership roles with software vendors and health systems.  She spent 9 years implementing and building IT healthcare solutions.  She joined Inova Health System as the IT Director of Customer Service in 2002.  Susan was responsible for leading the IT implementation and support teams, the IT Help Desk, and the IT Security team for the health system.  Susan also worked with the Inova Lean Team for 3 years where she led process improvement initiatives to achieve transformational change within the organization.  In 2013, Susan began working in population health.  She spent 8 years as the IT Director for Inova’s Clinically Integrated Network, where she designed the data integration strategy and implemented the population health solution to support the operations for the network.  Susan earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and received her Lean Sigma Green Belt Certification in Healthcare from Johns Hopkins.
