Dear PHN community,

After many, many years as part of the Children’s National community, I’ll be retiring in April and wanted to send this message of farewell. My past (almost) 4 years as part of our PHN team has been so rewarding primarily because of the incredible engagement and dedication to our patients that I’ve witnessed among all of you. None of us could have foreseen the formidable challenges that the pandemic posed. The resilience and ingenuity our practice teams brought forward as it unfolded have been truly humbling.

It’s also a great feeling to leave the work the network team faces moving forward in such capable hands. We are thrilled to welcome the latest addition to our team, Dr. Lee Beers, who will lead our mental and behavioral health initiative. Lee has been a champion in this field both locally, nationally, and even internationally in her work as President of the AAP. With Terry’s wealth of expertise, Mark’s deep history leading us all in learning together, and Sandy’s expertise in IT and her ascension to the AAP presidency, I just don’t think we could possibly ask for better leadership. Terry has pulled together a real dream team at the PHN to support our work. And we’ll be rounding out the team with my replacement shortly.

So, with great optimism for the network and with gratitude for my many rewarding years at Children’s National, I move on to my next chapter. My husband Tom and I will be staying here in D.C., so please be in touch.

Very best,

Ellie
