BIOGRAPHY
Meredith Carpenter joined the PHN in 2020 as a Project Manager, focusing on developing value-based contracts with health plans to drive health care improvement. Meredith has 14 years of experience in health care, including 10 years working on value-based programs.
Meredith has previous experience with clinically integrated networks and population health at two other children’s hospitals. At Arkansas Children’s Hospital as the coordinator of the Medical-Legal Partnership, Meredith led the initiative to screen for and address social determinants of health in primary care and hospital settings for the Arkansas Children’s Care Network. As a project manager for Partner’s for Kids (PFK) at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Meredith worked closely with Medicaid Managed Care health plans to ensure contract compliance and developed the payment methodology between the health plans and the network. She also helped implement quality improvement strategies for improving prenatal care, asthma care, and well-child visits in the PFK population of over 300,000.
Prior, Meredith was a program manager at OhioHealth where she evaluated the impact of the then-new Medicare value-based programs on the health system. She also has experience in the consulting industry as a clinical writer and researcher for a consulting company to the pharmaceutical industry.
Meredith has a B.A. in Public Health Studies with a concentration in Natural Sciences from Johns Hopkins University and a Master in Health Administration (MHA) with a concentration in Health Services Management and Policy from the Ohio State University.
